Why does everyone stop talking as soon as someone new enters the elevator from a different floor? I do it but why? Next time I am going to keep talking or if I am alone I will join in on the starngers conversation. Stay Classy!

Why does everyone stop talking as soon as someone new enters the elevator from a different floor? I do it but why? Next time I am going to keep talking or if I am alone I will join in on the starngers conversation.
